Prevent Agentforce Dev Org Expiry with GitHub Actions

Vinay Vernekar · · 2 min read

If you've spent any time building in an Agentforce Dev Org, you know how annoying the expiry timer can be. These developer editions are great because they come with Data Cloud and all the shiny new AI tools, but they have a short fuse. If you don't log in for 45 days, Salesforce just shuts it down and reclaims the space.

Why your Agentforce Dev Org keeps expiring

Look, we've all been there. You spend hours setting up a perfect environment, you get your agents running, and then life gets busy. You step away for a month, and when you finally come back to test a new feature, the org is gone. Poof. Expired. Since these orgs are part of a limited release, Salesforce is pretty strict about that 45-day inactivity window.

But here's the thing: you don't actually have to manually log in through a browser to keep the lights on. A simple API call counts as activity. I've seen teams lose weeks of configuration work just because they forgot to open a tab. We can fix that with a "heartbeat" script that runs on its own.

What you'll need to get started

  • A signed-up Agentforce Dev Org (you can get one here if you haven't yet).
